Yesterday at the 'Love our Ouse' festival in Railway Land Nature Reserve, Lewes I was invited to take out three groups on Walks & Talks and I have to say that it was one of the best days out I've had and for me, the best event ever at the reserve!
I met up with old friends and many lovely people I now count as friends. I spoke about and showed photos of natural history events throught the year that occur and can be seen from the 'Source to Sea' of our local river system that equates to approx 150 miles of water ways. One of the subjects was the Kingfishers that live in this system and, if you have a keen eye, can regularaly be seen and I'm very pleased to report that two of the three groups I took out were treated to the sight of a total of five sightings of these spectacular birds.
For those who missed out I put together a little compilation of shots I have taken so far this year and I hope you might spend some time at the water's edge and spot some yourself. Steve
