"Take a walk on the wild side"

Lou Reed-1972 (definition...to take risks, to live dangerously, to speculate)

The unusual photo on my poster for this walk is a Swan attacking me in the breeding season when I accidently strayed too close to his mate sitting on their nest in a reed bed.

I stopped him, distracted and calmed him in about 3 seconds with simple whistle.

My Grandfather taught me that trick and I asked him;

"How can I know as as much about nature as you do Grandad?"

"First you have to learn how to become part of it again" he replied.

"You live in a town and watch too much TV"

Today things are even worse; with mobile phones and computers it's even more difficult to remember that we are actually part of the natural world.

This is one of several Walks & Talks I have been commissioned to take out via 'Visit Lewes'

for the governments 'Walk this Way' project, to get folk out and about after the series of Lockdowns.

They are spread over two weekends this month but now all are fully booked.

However; if you would like to come out with me for a walk and talk and learn a few things that will contribute to your wellbeing then please do get in touch. It can be just you and I if you like, or you and you child or children or a small group of friends? Come on, take a walk on the wild side.
